Growing up, I wanted to be like the Kratt Brothers on PBS...However, I also wanted to be the next Iron Chef on the Food Network. You see the dilemma right?
The ebbs and flows of the world shape our communities and our careers, but they never disrupt the connectivity of our efforts. From my time at Indiana University, I have learned so much about the intersections of conservation, environmental justice, culture, and food systems. I want to bridge the gap between the scientific world of environmentalism and the soulful world of cuisine and culinary heritage. Bridging this gap will allow our communities to redevelop globally minded and compassionate habits that are naturally and culturally centered, rather than just people centered.
When I'm not in classes focused on climate change, ecology, and food systems, I am probably in the kitchen executing my own personal Chopped Challenge.
