So a little about myself. My name is Victoria (Tori) Williams. I'm currently working full-time as an animal technician in the neotropics area of MD Anderson Cancer Center. Right now I mainly take care of Owl monkeys but we are also getting Marmosets in a few months. We have a couple of major research projects coming up that I'm extremely excited to be a part of with both our owl monkey colony and the incoming marmosets. I completed my undergraduate degree at Cornell University and I'm finally working on my Grad/Vet School applications. I'm ALAT (Assistant Laboratory Animal Technician) certified and studying for my LAT (Laboratory Animal Technician) certification.
I'm from a small town in Texas, that no one has ever heard of unless you're from the area, near Austin. I'm an only child with two amazing parents I wouldn't trade for less than 3.5 million dollars. Just kidding (kinda). Anyways, I have a five month old miniature dachshund named Rose who is a demon terror but I love her to pieces, and I spend most of my time trying to keep her from eating whatever random thing she finds on the ground. In what little free time I do have I enjoy reading, lifting weights, trying to catch up on the shows I miss via hulu/ netflix, and watching Rose run through the house with things that are bigger than her and then try to jump up on to the couch. I love kayaking, volleyball, softball, and as any tried and true Texan I love watching football both college and NFL. Well, being that we don't have all day, and I also can't think of anything else to say about myself for the moment I'll stop here. If you have any questions feel free to contact me. I'll try to answer to the best of my ability.
Side note: this is one of my favorite quotes. I don't know who it's by, but it reminds me that not everything will go exactly as planned but as long as you keep going you can get there. Just in case anyone needs a little motivation.
~You never fail until you stop trying.
Wishing you all the best,
