My name is Olivia Won and I'm from Oakland, California and just graduated from Wesleyan University with degrees in Science in Society Program and Environmental Studies. I'm a member of the 2016 DDCSP-UW cohort where I had the immense privilege to share summers with Washington state, the beautiful communities there, and my awe inspiring fellow scholars. My interests lie in tending to the converging stories and histories of the lands and waters that we inhabit and building with these to imagine more just and intersectional futures of being in place. Or in less dreamy vague language, I want to bring plants into urban ecosystems through community gardens, green stormwater design, and public space that's ACTUALLY designed for/with the communities that have lived there (not the people working at google), honoring communities of color and revitalizing people's relationships to plants that are threatened by racist/colonial erasure.
Currently, I am living in Oakland, working at a native plant nursery and hoping to pursue a M.L.A. with a focus in environmental planning.
