You are invited to apply to present at the 2021 New Horizons in Conservation Conference. The conference will take place virtually from Sunday, April 18 through Tuesday, April 20, 2020.

The conference is an annual gathering of students and early career professionals who are from historically underrepresented backgrounds in the environmental field and/or committed to diversity, equity, and inclusion in the field. Attendees have the opportunity to network, engage in hands-on workshops, and hear from leaders and visionaries in the environmental field. You can view a highlight video of the 2019 conference here.

Speakers at this year's conference will include Beverly Wright, Robert Bullard, David Pellow, Peggy Shepard, Vernice Miller-Travis, Mustafa Ali, Kyle Whyte, José González, Kim Moore Bailey, Malik Yakini, and more!

We are looking for students and early career professionals in the environmental field to present on their research and/or professional work. As a presenter, you would be able to register for the conference for free. You can submit a poster alone or as part of a team.

Since the conference will be virtual, the poster session will operate differently than at a traditional conference. Presenters upload their posters as well as a brief video explaining the poster, and both will be available for conference attendees to view throughout the conference. There will be opportunities for questions, discussion, and feedback.

There will be one poster session for undergraduates and one for graduate students and young professionals. The poster session will be reviewed and three winners will be chosen from each session. The prizes will be:

First Place poster receives $500.00
Second place poster receives $300.00
Third place poster receives $150.00
If there are multiple authors on a winning poster they will split the prize.

The application to present is available here. Applications will be evaluated on a rolling basis, so apply as soon as possible, but the deadline is February 18.
