The College of Marine Science (CMS) at the University of South Florida would like to invite MSI graduating seniors and alumni to apply for fully funded Fall 2019 graduate (MS, PhD) research opportunities. We are seeking students from diverse majors (applied mathematics, biology, chemistry, computer science, engineering, geosciences, etc.) to become the next generation of scholar-leaders and policy-makers in addressing the health of the oceans and global climate change.
CMS is one of the top oceanographic institutions both within the U.S. and internationally as our faculty, students, and research centers engage in both fundamental and applied research within five core research areas (Biological Oceanography, Chemical Oceanography, Geological Oceanography, Marine Resource Assessment and Physical Oceanography). Our College offers a personalized mentoring (one-to-one) environment that enables students to advance their graduate research and professional careers in a unique way that is not possible anywhere else.
To receive priority consideration for both admissions and funding opportunities, we strongly encourage interested students to submit online applications by January 10th. Please see the attached flyer for additional information.
We strongly encourage eligible applicants to also be aware of the following Fall 2019 deadlines:
·Florida Education Fund’s McKnight Fellowship Program January 15
(Applicants must be US citizens, African-American/Black; or Hispanic/Latino or Native American)
·Final Deadline February 1
Additional funding opportunities may be available for students through the Alfred P. Sloan Foundation University Center of Exemplary Mentoring (UCEM) and NSF Florida-Georgia LSAMP Bridge to the Doctorate Program contingent upon the availability of funding.
