ELP and Virginia Tech’s Center for Leadership in Global Sustainability (CLiGS) are offering a scholarship to ELP alumni and network members including DDCSP Alumni to participate in the interdisciplinary Executive Master of Natural Resources graduate degree program focusing on Leadership for Sustainability.
A $10,000 scholarship is available for an outstanding ELP alum who applies and is accepted to the XMNR program prior to October 1, 2019. Additional scholarship opportunities may be available if more than one eligible candidate applies. Note: A $1,000 scholarship is available for all qualified students applying to the XMNR program by our early admissions deadline of August 1.
Virginia Tech’s Executive Master of Natural Resources (XMNR) is an accelerated, 12-month program focusing on the theme of leadership for sustainability. Each year, a limited number of students are accepted to participate. Students have prior work experience in a variety of fields and sectors, including business, government, and non-profit organizations. The interdisciplinary curriculum is flexible and designed to help students achieve their individual professional development and career goals while working full-time and earning a graduate degree.
Major elements of the program include class meetings one weekend each month in metro Washington, D.C. (students commute from throughout the US and beyond), individual and team work online in the intervals between meetings, peer-to-peer and project-based learning, a 10-day International Residency, and directed study projects tailored to each student's academic and professional interests. In addition to gaining new credentials and competencies, students develop the confidence and connections needed to effectively pursue career change and advancement opportunities.
Have you considered graduate school but never found the right program, one that allows you to study part-time while working full-time and not relocate to attend classes? Virginia Tech’s Center for Leadership in Global Sustainability educates, inspires, and empowers professionals to create a better future for people and the planet. We offer graduate degree programs in online and executive formats that are designed especially for working professionals like you. Learn more at http://cligs.vt.edu/graduate-degree-programs/
